New ICANN requirements for gTLDs transfers

In accordance with new requirements ICANN has established for all registrars, Octopoly Ltd has to apply two minor changes to the domain name transfer process for gTLDs; ccTLD transfers are not affected by these changes. They are as follows:

  • Every time you modify the contact details of your domain name, or transfer your domain name to another registrant (change the owner of the domain), you and the new registrant will need to confirm this change by clicking on a link in an email sent to both by Octopoly.
  • After each modification or transfer of a domain name, the domain will go into a “registrar lock” status, which prevents the domain from being transferred again for a period of 60 days. You are able to remove this lock status but you will be asked to confirm the unlocking of your domain name.

Please feel free to contact us if you require additional information.

Best Regards,
Your Octopoly Team
