As they say, ‘a picture paints a thousand words’ and what would a website be without images? Be it a hero image supporting your content or graphics to illustrate a point, the right image can liven up a website and make it stand out from the noise.
The reason is very simple; it takes an image only a few seconds to leave a lasting impression. You most certainly can achieve that as well with a good paragraph of content, containing the right words and message. But, users would still need to read the whole text. An image on the other hand can communicate the same message in an instant. Combined with a catchy short line, you can positively affect the impression you leave.
It’s important to note that you cannot use images found on search engines such as Google unless they have been purchased or are license free, this could result in legal complications for you.
There are plenty of great stock photography sources out there, buying good high-resolution images however is not always cheap. Especially for small businesses or startup ups, every dollar counts. The good news is that you don’t have to purchase images. There are also really great royalty free image platforms out there. Check out some of these options to see if they have whats right for you:
Please note that some of these websites show images via affiliate programmes with the commercial stock photography platforms. Those images have to be purchased too but are clearly marked, so don’t worry about it.
(By the way, we do not have any affiliation with these websites nor do we get paid to promote them. We do think they do a great job and recommend them to customers who ask for image sources.)
