A while ago we introduced a new feature for our domain accounts. We thought it is worthwhile giving this feature some extra attention via a special blog post. So here we go, the feature we want to highlight today is: IP address Whitelisting
IP Whitelisting is a security feature. Like our Two-Step Authentication process, which sends users a unique PIN code to their mobile phone, needed to login, IP Whitelisting protects your account from unauthorised access from third parties.
In particular useful for companies or brands that want to protect their intellectual property and domain names from hi-jacking. If an IP address is whitelisted in your account, access from all other IP addresses is denied.
This feature is great for companies and organisations using a fix IP address in their premises. People outside of the office or company internal network would not be able to access the account holding all your digital assets, domains, email, hosting, SSL certificates or documents.
While the IP Whitelisting features was designed with companies and corporations in mind that require highest security for their digital assets, it can be used by all of our customers. The only requirement is to have a fix IP address, the service itself is free of charge (how good is that!?).
If you are using a fix IP address and want to make use of the IP Whitelisting, you can do so in your account following these steps:
- Log into your Moreweb NZ Account
- Click on MY ACCOUNT in the upper right corner
- In the submenu click on SECURITY
- Click on the CONFIGURE IP WHITELISTING button
- And follow the instructions
Done. Together with the Two-Step Authentication, your account and domains and digital assets it contains are as secure as it can be. If you are interested, see what other features our domain control panel offers.
