How can I use my own domain name with Squarespace?

How to use Squarespace with Moreweb

There are two steps to use your Squarespace account with your Moreweb domain name. Please also refer to the guide in the Squarespace Help Center.

Step 1: In your Squarespace account:

1. Log into your Squarespace account.
2. In the Home menu, click Settings, then click Domains.
3. Click Use a Domain I Own.
4. Enter the full domain name you’re connecting in the Enter Domain field, then click the arrow.
5. Click Connect Domain.
6. Select Other from the drop-down menu and Click Connect Domain.
7. In the message that appears, click Continue.
8. Your DNS Settings will appear. Please keep this window open for the next step.

Step 2: In your Moreweb account:

1. Log in to your Moreweb account.
2. Go to DOMAIN NAMES and ACTIVE.
3. Hover over the domain and click on MANAGE.
4. Click on MANAGE ZONE on the left side.
5. Click on NEW RECORD in the panel below and select CNAME (Canonical Name) under Type.
6. Copy the unqiue code that appeared in step 1 and paste it into the Host field and
7. enter "verify.squarespace.com." into the Canonical Name field. Please make sure to include the dot at the end.
8. Leave TTL at 1h and click SAVE RECORD.
9. Click again on NEW RECORD in the panel below and select again CNAME (Canonical Name) under Type.
10. This time enter "www" into the Host field and
11. enter "ext-cust.squarespace.com." into the Canonical Name field. Please make sure to include the dot at the end.
12. Leave TTL at 1h and click SAVE RECORD.
13. Click again on NEW RECORD in the panel below and select A (IPv4 Address) under Type.
14. Enter "@" into the Host field and "198.185.159.144" into the IPV4 field.
15. Leave TTL and Dynamic DNS fields unchanged and click SAVE RECORD.
16. Repeat steps 13, 14 & 15 and create additional A Records for the following three IP addresses: 198.185.159.145, 198.49.23.144, 198.49.23.145
17. Click SAVE ZONE.

The verification can take up to 48 hours to connect. If it is not connected right away, please check again at a later time. You can check your connection progress in your Squarespace account under the Domain overview panel. In your Home menu click Settings, click Domains, then click your domain. If it is longer than 24 hours, contact us.
