To activate the SSL certificate you acquired, you need to contact your server administrator to receive your Certificate Signing Request (CSR). The CSR is generated with the server software and contains necessary technical information for the SSL application.

In case your SSL certificate shall cover both, the www version (www.yourdomain.com) and the root version (yourdomain.com) of your domain, the CSR has to be generated for the www version. If the CSR is generated for the root version only, it won´t cover the www version.

Please keep the private key secret, it will be created while generating the CSR, so don´t reveal it to any third party. Otherwise your SSL certificate can be compromised.

Once you have received your CSR, follow the instructions below:

1. Log in to your Moreweb account.
2. Go to PRODUCTS > SSL.
3. Click on ACTIVATE next to the SSL certificate.
4. If the SSL certificate is for a domain name registered with Moreweb, select the domain in the drop-down menu. Otherwise check the option Domain name with another provider and enter the domain in the field.
5. Time to enter your CSR. You can either copy and paste your CSR in the content box or select Upload text file and upload the CSR as plain text file.
6. Click on REGISTER CSR below the content box. Once uploaded, check that it is correct.
7. Choose your validation option:
• Email: Select an email address in the drop-down menu.
• URL: metatag.
• Text: automatically added to the zone if the domain uses our Moreweb name servers.
8. Confirm the contact profile of the domain owner.
9. Click ACTIVATE YOUR SSL CERTIFICATE.

Please note that SSL certificates need to be activated within 90 after the purchase, otherwise they will expire irrevocably.
